The process of buying and selling on Tradermania:

Sellers:

Sellers list items for sale by choosing a selling method. the different selling methods are auctions, dutch auctions, fixed price, clasifieds and request for quote. Click on the sell item button and list your items for sale choosing your selling method, with a starting price, reserve price and buy now price whichever way you choose. Once you have listed your items, any member of Tradermania can make a bid or get interrested by asking questions or bidding. If a reserve price was set the reserve must be met before the item is sold. The reserve price is kept secret from bidders. You may ask the seller a clue to what the reserve price is, by using the “Ask seller a question” or "Qlive Chat Messenger" feature if used on each auction page. If a reserve price was not set the item will sell for the highest bid regardless. If the item was listed with a “Buy it now” price, there will be a buy now button provided on the auction page. This means the buyer does not have to wait until the auction expires but can buy the item there and then for the buy price.

Buyers:

The buyer see an item listed for sale and they wish to buy it. The buyer will then enter a bid on the auction page in the window provided. The system automatically work on preset bid increments but bidders do not have to follow these. A bidder can enter a bid amount they wish. The system will then register the bid with your Tradermania username in the bid history of the auction.

General Auctions

Auction - A Traditional Auction listing allows you to sell items to the highest bidder. You specify the start price, and people bid against each other in specified bid increments. Traditional Auctions allow the Seller to set both a Reserve and Buy Now price. When listing a Traditional Auction, the quantity of goods is equal to one. If no reserve price was set for the auction you will be the high bidder. If no other bids are registered from other bidders and the auction closes you will be the winner of the auction. If a reserve price was set for the auction your bid will be registered with your bid amount. If the bid you made have not met the reserve price set by the seller, you will notice a “Reserve not met next too the “Current price” of the item on the auction page. If you win the auction you will be notified by e-mail of your winning auction.

Example:

  • One pair of jeans has a quantity of 1.
  • A lot of 5 different men’s shirts have a quantity of 1 because they are all sold together as one item.
If you have 5 men’s shirts that are exactly the same and you want to sell each one separately, then use the Dutch Auction format.

Dutch Auction – A Dutch Auction is another name for a multiple item auction. These listings are for selling more than one identical item individually in an auction format. Rather than creating a listing for each item, you can sell them all, one at a time, with one listing. Buyers can submit a bid for one, or multiple items in a Dutch Auction listing. When there are multiple buyers for a Dutch Auction, the item’s final cost is the lowest successful bid by the highest bidders.

Fixed Price
- A Fixed Price listing does not allow bidding. The seller specifies the only acceptable price for the item(s). You can sell one item or multiple identical items with one Fixed price listing. Because there is no bidding on fixed priced listings, all items are Buy Now.

Classified Ad
- Unlike traditional text only classified ads, our Classified Ads allow image uploads and dynamic communication between the Seller and all potential Buyers. When listing a Classified Ad, you enter your asking price, the shipping cost, and any information about the item or service you are selling. When an arrangement has been reached between the buyer and the seller, the seller can manually end the Classified Ad.

Buy Now - When listing an item, you may have the option of setting a Buy Now price. The Buy Now feature allows instant purchasing.

The Buy Now feature is available for the following listing types:
  • Traditional Auction
  • All Fixed Price listings - The Fixed Price is automatically the Buy Now price.

Request for quote (RFQ) - RFQ listings are requests for quotations. RFQ's are used to get quotations for services you require. For example, you need to get maintenance done on your home. Take photos, video and measurements of what's required and list it under the appropriate category. Companies and contactors respond to your RFQ by giving a price estimate and can upload documentation in a formal quotation.

RFQ categories:

Automotive> Repairs
Business> Cleaning; Construction; Displays; Equipment; Office Supplies; Printing; Safety; Security; Services; Shipping; Transport
Clothing> Wedding
Computers> Repairs
Farming> Animals; Equipment; Irrigation; Plants; Services
Pets> Services
